Ok would appreciate some advice especially from anyone who's been in a similar situation. I caught my partner of 14 years having an affair at a gym that I wasn't aware he was going to. Apparently they only slept together once and he regrets the whole thing immensely. I actually started feeling relieved almost like he had done me a favor, you have your good and bad days but I'm starting to feel my own confidence creeping back in. Thing is that I started seeing a councilor with him in my mind it was to work out how to get on the same page when it comes to raising our two young children separately, but theres been some insights since then. For one I've discovered that I wasn't the only one suffering post natal depression apparently men get it to, he's since gone on anti depressants and I have seen a change in him. It's almost like he's all of a sudden wanting to be a part of his family (first time ever) he's enthusiastic about the kids and how our days been, he rings and texts me around 50 times a day and has even come over to mow the lawns and bring us lunch. But it's more the emotional interaction that's astounding me. I used to ask him how his day at work was and he'd reply whats the point another day another dollar. Now he rings me to tell me about work and what his thoughts are. He even apologized to me for treating me so badly when the kids were born and not being there for us when we needed him. And the most surprising was having him call me in tears to explain that he gets it now, that he never managed to get down on our youngest sons level and just love him for him. He was always to busy with his social life he always seemed to resent having a son follow him around trying to impress his daddy. So you see I'm in a conundrum. 14 years is a long time to be with and love someone but it's also a long time to deny yourself. I was a very strong independent girl when we first met and he seemed to resent my passion for life so much so that I was in a bad way with depression towards the end. Why would my puppies attack their baby sister?

We had a dog that had 9 puppies, we found homes for 4 of them and still have 5 after 2 1/2 months. 3 of the puppies will attack the smallest little girl puppy. About a week ago I had an accident. I got a 5 inch slash on my face, running almost vertical from my jaw to just below my hairline,close to my ear on the left side of my body. the cut was pretty deep, I had to have two sets of stitches put on, one in the internal part of the cut and the other set- "24" stitches on the outside, the problem i'm having is that my face swelled up as soon as the stitches were put in place and im still bleeding about week later, after a couple days the swelling had not gone down and i was bleeding from the bottom of the laceration, so I made a visit to the ER I was told it was blood pooled up in my face due to a blood clot causing the swelling. The doctor then proceeded to make aditional perforations and squeezed some of the blood out,after a couple more days the swelling did go down, but not sure if it was due to the "squeezing" of the blood or the big bandage that was wrapped around my face for the next couple of days. I went back on Thursday to have them remove soutures and was told Id have to wear the bandage again.I have been bleeding the whole time, the doctor said i could swell up again.. so im going back in tomorrow to have them remove more soutures they placed in my cut. Could there be anything they are missing? its been seven days and im still bleeding.

My dog has a laceration and it is starting to stink.?

It was done while we were gone the other day and when we got home too much time elapsed in order for him to get it stitched. He has been on cephaxalin for two days. Tonight when I took off his bandage to change it I freaked. It stunk and was getting black in some places. I tried to call an emergency vet and the only one we had around us has closed down. I cleaned it really well with saline solution and put anibacterial dressing on it. Will he be ok until tomorrow. Does anyone know if this is normal for a deep laceration? I didn't know if it might be part of the healing process. I really don't think it is if it smells and looks the way it does....please help

Question about Facial Laceration!!!! important!?

I got into a car accident a few weeks ago and then i got stitches about 7 or 8, right near my left eye and its about one inch long and pretty deep, after getting stiches i got steristrips, and now its healed. but i want to know how long it takes to fully heal, and like go back to normal. and is it normal if the scar is a bit itchy at times and if its kinda swelled but not alot. and i just want to know information about what happens. and whats normal thank you!!

Staples for elbow laceration?!?

Now I'm not a medical guy- nor doctor or whatever you want to use for the nursing end; but I have been the guy that has been on the injury side of things. I'm sure the staples were a quick decision, I think if you have pictures of it, make sure you keep them just in case. Yeah it seems a little out there, but from my knowledge even staples could be used on any cut or laceration. I'm sure it depends on the depth of the cut, length of the cut, or even the severity. You'd have a scar regardless of staples or stitches; I think stitches would have been a smarter route but staples aren't really a bad idea. It's also normal for the sensitivity around the wound/laceration because it's been in a trauma so it'll be a few months before things go back to normal. I would keep an exact detail journal on things; just in case you need to take legal action. I hope this explains a little bit, I mean I can't give you a medical diagnoses, but I can give you the sympathetic side of view, where I know what you're going through to the extent of I've been cut open a few times(or had friends wounded) and doctors either took in account a few things, or didn't take the best care of them or I. Many doctors have the best intentions, but they don't let the patients have patience- meaning they rush them in, rush them out and onto the next rush.

Malpractice Suit after 3 surgeries in 13 days with no relief?

I'm considering whether or not to call an attorney regarding a hospital visit I recently had. I went into the ER for severe lower back pain that radiated down the back of my legs and into my groin. After loads of test the attending said that I had appendicitis and that it'd need to be removed. It was and two days later I was sent home. After two days of agonizing pain I returned to the ER and was readmitted and sent home the next day with the conclusion that it was simply post-op bruising in the tissues from the laparoscopic movement. After 3 days at home I returned to the ER yet again, now in so much pain that I couldn't walk. The ER doc wanted to send me home because I wasn't in pain after I was given a pain killer. HA! I was admitted and after tests galore and finally an ultrasound I was told I had gall stones and would have to have a cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal) and that was why I was in so much pain. During this laparoscopic surgery there was a laceration somewhere that made me lose 30% of my body's blood (1.5-2.0 Liters). After blood loss was controlled and organ removed I was in my room and I had stumbled and stripped. I was fine and later a nurse came in and my vitals were off the chart 102.6F and 168/109. I had an emergency exploratory laparotomy where nothing was found. 2 days later and my pain was surging beyond toleration and I was only given ibuprofen 600mg. They said it was just gas pain even though I'd pasted plenty of gas and had bowl movements. This wasn’t the only time during my stay I was neglected. There were two other notable time when I was overlooked and/or extreme time was taken before I was administered pain controlling medication. During these times I was in extreme duress and hysterically crying due to pain. One nurse even told me I needed to stop and that I obviously had a mental disturbance. Enough was enough and I left for another hospital with a better rep. Immediately admitted and pain controlled. I signed consent to have records transferred to new hospital and while some OR notes were missing the pathology of my appendix and gall bladder revealed no inflammation or other reasons they'd be considered "hazardous" to my body. So it appears that the surgeries didn't fix my underlying problem as I am still in massive amounts of pain even after the 3 surgeries in 13 days. So if it wasn't necessary to go through all of this, does it apply for a malpractice suit?

I would like to spend my birthday at a nice restaurant in either downtown dallas or downtown fort worth. I really want lobster and while red lobster is the obvious choice, I don't want to go to a franchised restaurant for my birthday. I want to go somewhere different with a fun and casual setting, such as razzoo's, joe's crabshack, etc. I found a pretty decent restaurant called, daddy jack's, located in sundance square in downtown fort worth [an area which i love], but the menus not quite as good as red lobster's. right now daddy jack's the #1 contender but i'm open to new suggestions. keep in mind i don't want to go to a franchised restaurant chain!

Is it normal for a scar to hurt 2 months after injury?

My daughter was bitten by a dog in December she had a 1 1/2 cm laceration about 1cm away from the side of her mouth, it required about 20 stitches to close. in all honesty, i was extremely freaked out when this happened and don't much of what the doctor said to expect. its been 2 months and my daughter said it is still very painful to touch and underneath the scar is a large lump which i just assumed was scar tissue but not i'm not so sure. she has an appointment with the plastic surgeon on Thursday but this is driving me crazy, any info would be greatly appreciated!!

If there's infection then you'll get redness and heat around the area and it will be painful however given you've got that much swelling it really needs to be looked at. Animal mouths are not the cleanest things around and any bites which break the skin need to be well flushed right away, given yours was left so long it does need to be looked at.

Trumpet lip soreness from braces help?

I made trumpet for junior state band and this weekend is our concert. What we do is go up on Friday and have a three-hour rehearsal, three three-hour rehearsals on Saturday (not very easy for a trumpet player with braces), and another two-hour rehearsal plus the concert on Sunday. In past years this hasn't been too bad but this is the first year I have had braces (also I am first trumpet). In addition, two days ago I had a killer rehearsal, and today I had a trumpet master class and a lesson. My lips are DEAD. They feel like they have lacerations and it is painful to play even in the mid-register. I go up tomorrow and if my chops are dead now I don't want to know what they will feel like after 14 hours of rehearsal before the concert. PLEASE is there anything I can do to help my lips? I am only seventeen but I have a cousin who can act like your daughter sometimes and it is hard to take care of her sometimes. What I do to my cousin is I talk to her in a stern voice and make eye contact. The eye contact is the key it shows authority don't force her to look at you just say her name until she looks at you even if it takes about a hundred times before she does. I am one of the only one my cousin listens to and I never lay a hand on her, yell at her, etc. Don't spank your child because physical abuse like that doesn't help much you just have to have patience. Also when she goes into a tantrum just put her in her room and ignore her until she calms down then talk to her. I hope this helps!

Tendon laceration in my wrist what is my percent of movement i will get back?

I cut my wrist...the top part of my wrist not the palm side. Cut 4 tendons and a nerve near my thumb. I had surgery and everything got put back together. I thinks its my extensor tendons. Im looking to find out what percentage of movement I will get back. When i first visited the plastic surgeon i couldnt hold my wrist up. Right now my wrist is in a splint n just started recovery. I looked for percentages online about recovery rates but cant seem to find an answer. Im sure it wont be 100 percent but hopefully high, and i know every case is different because everyone is different. Let me know if anyone has any experience with wrist tendon damage. I am very thankful i have my hand and am going to work extremely hard in theapy!

My dog has licked the top of her paw until it is an open sore, Why?

It doesn't look as though she was bitten and there is no laceration. She just licks until she has it bleeding. It is an area about the size of a fifty cent piece. It doesn't seem to hurt her, she is walking fine it just looks yucky. Tried putting antibiotic on it but she just licks it off and wrapping it with a bandage is hopeless. Any ideas?

hey guys...i just had an accident some 3 weeks back where my right hand's thumb, index and middle finger got damaged...while my index and middle finger got deep lacerations, i lost 3/4th of my thumb nail.....what worries me is that there are 2 stitches on my thumb nailbed which seem to be made of some cotton thread or something...will they be removed later or will the nail grow on top of it?? and i am having numbness at the left side of my middle finger...is this permanent or will i get it back??and what is the fastest way to heal my skin on my index and middle finger?? is there any tablets or creams that can help??i am really very worried about my fingers and the sight of them scares my a bit....please help!!

I work as a dog groomer, and I am used to getting scratched and bitten. I have many scars all over my arms and hands. A dog today turned and bit into my thumb as I was trying to pick her up. The wound is right below where my nail bed is. It doesn't appear to be very deep but it bled quite a bit. It hasn't bruised yet but it is red and swollen close to the laceration. It is numb and tight, but a lot of the pain is on my knuckle even though there isn't any redness there. Putting any pressure on my thumb also causes sharp pain. I am so used to these things I know I am not just being a baby. Did I hit a nerve or bone maybe?

How do i clean an infected cut on a hamsters nose?

So i noticed a huge pimple looking bump on my hamsters nose recently. i put him in separate cage cuz i thought it could be a tumor of some sort but the next day the fur on top of the nose was black so i i tried using a damp cloth to wipe his nose of because i assumed it was dirt then another day passed and i decided to try and keep it clean but when i wiped his nose again there was a weird smell =/ so i waited one more day and today i cleaned his nose again but this time a scab skin thing (about the number zero on a computer keybored) came off on the tissue and it smelled like death. There was a pretty big laceration on his nose... it wasnt bleeding but it still looked really bad compared to such a small creature. i cleaned his cage and dabbed his nose with some warm water and it doesn't seem to bother him but i dont want it getting infected again..? anything i should use to help clean it out?? (going to the vet is not an option =(
