THERE'S A NEW GUY, THERE'S AN OLD GUY, AND THERE'S MEEEE (10 PTS)!!!!?

I have started tlking to this new guy I really like & we are thinking about dating but the problem is there's this old guy. We didn't date. Basically his friend said I was going to die a virgin on fb & he didn't defend me on it. I was mad & started telling all his friends he's gay. Not only that but I told 1 girl that he liked her & thinks she's beautiful but it turns out that was his best friend who's in the army's younger sister & that friend was mad at him thinking he was flirting w/ his younger sister & he thought his best guy friend did all this at first & not me so it caused their relationship to not be so good although they made up. Anyway, he never forgave me even when I reached out several times to him. So I've been tlking to this new guy who I really like & I had completely forgotten about the old guy until I saw him at his work. He didn't see me but...it just brought up a bunch of old feelings b/c I really liked this guy. Now part of me is saying I want him back but the other part is saying to go for this new guy b/c we are so perfect together & he's everything I've ever wanted. What do I do? If I give the new guy a try, he has to be first pick so how can I make the feelings toward the old guy go away? Thx!!
