Is it safe to use krazy or super glue to close lacerations of any size, human or pet?

Two of my dogs got into a fight, the injured dog had a 4 inch gash/laceration on the neck/shoulder area. I was advised by a local pet store/pet rescue owner that it is perfectly safe to use the glue to close the wound. I'm looking for information to give this person so as to stop doing this practise.
